Twins who register with Twins Research Australia are placed on our database and are contacted when there is an appropriate study and about research findings. We will also update you about TRA activities such as research seminars, twin events and membership benefits, along with our eNews.

We always have new studies coming up – you may be interested in some and not others and that’s fine – you always have a choice whether to participate or not. Your involvement is voluntary and you can withdraw from a study or TRA at any stage. 

Time taken to support a study can be as little as a few minutes filling out a questionnaire. Other common activities include health check-ups.

All projects that request to use Twins Research Australia are carefully reviewed. Approved projects must satisfy ethical guidelines and be of significant value to the area of proposed research. Information concerning individuals of TRA is strictly confidential; personal details will not be given out without your consent.
