On Saturday 14th March 2009 the Twins Plus Festival organised by the Australian Multiple Birth Association and supported by the Australian Twin Registry was held at Taronga Zoo, Sydney. The Twins Plus Festival held at the scenic Taronga zoo in Sydney was a wonderful celebration of 'multiplicity'. With well over 1400 people attending, there were plenty of festivities to keep everyone amused; from face painting to animal exhibits and competitions, twins, triplets and quadruplets had the unique opportunity to mingle with other multiples and their families.

The Australian Twin Registry, in conjunction with the Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA), hosted Australia's first national festival for twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets and their families on Saturday 11th March 2006 at Thoroughbred Park, Canberra. The Festival was an opportunity for families with young twins and multiples, and for adult twins also, to get together and celebrate. It was also an opportunity for the ATR and many research groups to staff exhibitions and engage with the twins, highlighting areas of their research and showing their appreciation for the massive contribution Australian twins have made to research.
