230+ major studies have been facilitated by Twins Research Australia. These studies have in turn seeded many additional smaller twin projects and sub-studies, meaning Registry members have contributed to over 500 studies.
The Twins Research Australia Study Index is a searchable list of all existing research projects previously facilitated by TRA. It contains meta-data about TRA-enabled studies such as title, lead researcher(s), institution, dates, types of twins approached (i.e. zygosity/sex combinations) and any tests or measures performed. Publications arising from these studies can be viewed here.
Fostering Collaborations: Study designs incorporating twin models are an invaluable part of every health and medical researcher’s repertoire. TRA’s study index is intended to help foster contact between researchers who have conducted studies involving twins and those who may be interested in doing so. Researchers who have already collected twin data may be interested in providing access to this resource in a de-identified format for secondary analyses and/or other collaborations.
Adding value: TRA also hopes its study index will provide existing twin data sources to assist researchers, particularly students and early career researchers, without the resources to recruit a cohort of study participants.
Due to the archival nature of this information not all listings are complete. Conducting other searches (e.g. PubMed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/) may yield additional information about a TRA-facilitated study.
